Quick Movie Review: Big Hero 6

The school holiday movie marathon continues for our family, as today we took Miss Four and Mister Two, as well as Nana and Poppa, to see another new release, just in time for school holidays, blockbuster, Disney’s Big Hero 6.

It’s the story of a young tech genius who teams up with his brother’s marshmallow-like robotic nurse (yes it really is a nurse, or perhaps it is more a doctor than a nurse) and his brother’s college classmates, to avenge…well I won’t tell what they are trying to avenge as that would constitute a spoiler…and track down a mysterious masked villain who has stolen some mind-controlled micro-bots. Don’t worry if that all sounds too confusing, Big Hero 6 is a fantastically fun, team of superheroes, origin story, with jaw-dropping animation and many heartstring-tugging moments, and a hilarious aunt who had me in stitches.

Just like Paddington, which we saw last week (see my earlier post), this is an equally awesome choice for a school holiday flick, which can be enjoyed by children and adults of all ages. I must say, we have been really spoilt at the cinemas this school holidays. I give Big Hero 6 4.5 giant snuggly robots out of 5.
